Jared began the YouTube channel back in July of 2018. Jared’s first video was about scuba diving the pond next to a frisbee golf course in his home town in Oregon. He was scuba diving for frisbees and returning them to their owners if possible. He has filmed many videos of treasure hunting under water. Most of the treasure is sunglasses and cell phones. Jared was not only looking for under water treasure, he was cleaning up the rivers, ponds and lakes. Jared did his best to return all the items he possibly could to their owners.
Pulling vehicles out of the water
Jared is an expert at retrieving underwater vehicles. First, Jared launches an inflatable boat (introduced on July 17, 2020) and use hi tech sonar to scan the body of water. This allows the team to locate cars before they get wet. Next, they throw a magnet attached to a buoy on the vehicle and mark the location. The vehicle is rigged and lift bags are used to raise the vehicles to the surface. A tow truck pulls in the cable to tow the floated vehicles to the waters edge or boat ramp. The flatbed tow truck hauls it out and drives it away.
In December 2019 Jared and Sam drove 32 hours to search for Nathan Ashby of Warrenton, Missouri. Viewers on YouTube and Facebook reached out to AWP after Nathan’s story was on Dateline in November 2019. A truck was located in the Missouri River, but they needed divers to make the dangerous recovery. Jared made a treacherous dive in the Missouri river to recover Nathan’s pick up truck. Nathan was found inside the truck. This was an incredibly humbling experience for Jared and Sam. It was this vehicle pull that was no ordinary hook and book. Jared had an epiphany, and the YouTube channel AWP suddenly had a much higher purpose and the channel took a new trajectory. These ordinary guys could make a difference in the world. This was more than just environmental clean up and treasure hunts. This was about helping families and changing lives.puts

Open source investigations using the power of social media to solve cold cases
A cross country road trip in the fall of 2020 was planned with cold cases of missing persons on the schedule. AWP has criteria for the cases they work. A missing person must include a possibility of an underwater vehicle. Scuba diving is their specialty and they will use their skills to help as many families as possible. Also they do not take murder cases. They are civilians and do not need to put themselves in harms way.
Simple criteria
- water and a vehicle
- no murder victims
- no foul play
Jared had only known Dan a few weeks when he recruited him for the road trip. Dan is an excellent camera man and videographer. This young 18 year old is a very talented video editor. He can take a sensitive story and keep the story telling respectful and entertaining. Dan is moving on. Good luck to Dan.
These guys are truly good people who want to help families find lost loved ones and give them answers. They have solved many cold cases.
The top video of last year was the successful recovery of Ethan Kazmerzak of Hampton, Iowa. A 22 year old man who had been missing for 7 years. On October 27 th, 2020 AWP found his vehicle in the pond on the property where he attended a party the night he disappeared.
The Randy Leach story is another missing persons case the team was working on. Jared had made it their goal to find Randy in 2021. This video is in 2 parts and there are also updates with video interviews with Mr. and Mrs. Leach.
UPDATE
Sadly, Jared has made the decision to not pursue this missing persons case. For personal reasons not given to the viewers AWP will not follow up any more on Randy Leach.
With the still growing success of AWP perhaps one day Jared will return to find Randy Leach.
AWP has traveled and put out amazing videos. They have given so many families closure and with a more humble and sentive approach towards the families.

I will miss Sam he truly has a way with connecting with the viewers and also a very magnetic personality. Don’t know what happened with Jarod and Sam but it is just a shame they had to part ways.

Sam did the best of his ability, i have watched every upload from ( Adventures with Purpose) way back from 2018 over ( at that time to 150 videos all i might add 80% of was Jared & his shy thumbs up thumbs down baby gal kiki
I loved them they where a joy to watch.

Why is the video private and who made it that way?
It was Sam’s video on his channel. It was up for about a month.
I miss Jared and Sam leading the shows. They were funny and worked well together. Now it’s something in between humility and ego
Either way, we will miss Jared!
